In a blend of art, technology, and community, the ETRARTE AR application has emerged as a unique Augmented Reality experience. This initiative was developed by the Eye-Tech team in close collaboration with the Etrarte Association and is part of the 2021 edition of Co.So! Artists for Social, a co-creation project involving professional artists, citizens, operators, and fragile communities.
Context of Co.So! Artists for Social
Co.So! Artists for Social is an ambitious project that embraces co-creation between artists and communities. For the 2021 edition, three international artists, Rok Bogataj, Cristiano Focacci Menchini, and Roberto Alfano, had the opportunity to collaborate with the community, placing nature at the center of the city and human relationships.
Virtual Sculptures: “Butterfly 0.1” and “Liberesum”
The heart of this initiative manifests through two extraordinary virtual sculptures: “Butterfly 0.1” and “Liberesum.” These digital artworks, created in collaboration with the community, bring the charm of nature into the urban environment. Through the ETRARTE AR app, users have the opportunity to explore these unique 3D creations.
How ETRARTE AR Works
To immerse yourself in this artistic experience, simply download the ETRARTE AR app for free from the App Store or Google Play. Once installed, the app allows you to view the sculptures in Augmented Reality through the smartphone’s camera. The epicenter of the action is the picturesque Piazza Grande in Palmanova (UD), where the virtual works come to life by simply framing a QR code placed in the center of the square itself.
A Virtual Journey into Art and Nature
ETRARTE AR offers a unique opportunity to explore the connection between art and nature, creating a bridge between the digital and the real world. Virtual art merges with the surrounding environment, providing anyone with the app installed an immersive and interactive experience.
A Step Forward in the Fusion of Art and Technology
ETRARTE AR represents a significant step forward in the integration of art and technology, offering an innovative platform to explore shared creativity and the beauty of nature. This initiative demonstrates how Augmented Reality can enrich our world, creating meaningful connections through art and community interaction.
