SIVARC: ARTIFICIAL VISION SYSTEM FOR MEAL COMPOSITION AND FOOD WASTE RECOGNITION

In recent months, Eye-Tech has launched an innovative project for monitoring and recognizing of meals and food waste, funded through the A1.3.1 Call of the FESR 2021-2027 Regional Program of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The system utilizes video sensors and artificial intelligence to detect and analyze food waste in collective catering environments.

The project aims to reduce waste, improve resource management, and raise awareness about the importance of minimizing food waste. The data collected will help optimize supply planning and inventory management, reducing operational costs and promoting sustainable practices. Additionally, the system will contribute to reducing environmental impact, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 12 and 13).

This initiative, which falls within the framework of the European Green Deal, is designed to serve as a replicable model for other sectors in the food and collective catering industries. The technology will also have applications in other industries, such as packaging, waste management, and industrial processes.

  • PR FESR FVG contribution: €33,614.00, of which 40% EU-funded
